Gene for High Cholesterol

Can someone tell me which gene would indicate that I have the gene for high cholesterol?

There are several genes for cholesterol, but I’m not sure how many are tested in the 23andME type of tests. There are diagrams for cholesterol synthesis genetic pathways online. You can then check gene names in the Livewello search box (by gene name). I can tell you that a gene for cholesterol deficiency used to be included on 23andME. It is called DHCR7, and its the reason I got tested. I have a mutation known to cause deficiency. Also methylation does have something to do with cholesterol synthesis, indirectly. You may want to start there. Good luck!

Thank you. This web site has so much information it’s easy to get lost.
