What gene can affect my major side effects on duloxetine?
I got this for neuropatic pain, but ended up with insomnia for 1,5 month and 33 days with severe headace. The side effects stopped after ending this medication after four monts, and the side effets appaired when I started this agian. Yeah, no one guessed it was duloxetine causing this mess.

I try to understandthis, beause there have been a lot of heavy side effets from different drugs. I need to choose the right doses and medications in pain management.

Duloxetine is metabolised by CYP2D6. If you have one of the many, many polymorphisms known on the gene for this P450 then it can exacerbate the side effects of Duloxetine.

CYP2D6 is responsible for metabolism of about one-quarter of all drugs. So that could explain why you respond differently to such a wide range of medications.
