What does it mean when I get a message saying “Phenotype analysis for this SNP is not available because the information obtained from [dbSNP] for rsxxxx, is ambiguous?” Seems to happen a lot. My genotype on the SNP is clearly characterized. Is it just saying the phenotypic consequences in studies are contradictory?
Because some people say that your genotype causes ‘X’ while others say that it doesn’t cause ‘X’ but it causes ‘Y’ instead. The first lot say that he whole idea of it causing ‘Y’ is laughable.
There is no consensus. There is ambiguity.
